How to Identify and Avoid Online Paid Survey Scams

Saturday, May 16th, 2009
In the current economy, many people are looking for ways to earn a little money on the side when they get home. A lot of people are turning to paid surveys. For years, corporations have recruited people online to fill out surveys for the benefit of various businesses. This sort of market research is very valuable and the persons who purchase it pay high fees, however little of that is passed on to the actual people being surveyed. Still, a little money on the side is always good, right?

Rife with Scams

Like any “work at home” program, online paid survey programs are plagued with scams. People who are willing to be paid a dollar or less to spend ten minutes (or more) filling out a survey are generally desperate and therefore vulnerable. While most online paid surveys are legitimate, honest services, there are a few bad apples that can really hurt people.

Money Up Front

The most common scam related to online paid surveys is that the person administering the survey will demand an upfront payment. This is usually termed a “processing fee” or a “start up fee,” and is usually small enough to where people will pay it without questioning, say $10-$30. The problem is that after this startup fee is paid, the customer receives no surveys, and may in fact find that their credit card or banking information has been stolen. Very few legitimate online survey programs require that money be put up front, since companies pay to have these surveys administered, and this payment is intended to cover all the costs of administering the survey. Persons administering this scam usually promise huge rewards such as large payouts for doing the survey or easily acquired gifts so as to sucker in companies.

Tiny Paychecks

Another scam, and one that is harder to detect, is a survey company that deliberately underpays the persons taking the survey. Because the person being surveyed is still paid for their efforts, this is generally not noticed by the person being surveyed, they simply notice that they are not getting paid very much. The only real way to detect and avoid these is to view forums and websites dedicated to making money by taking surveys, and see what other people have to say about the company. Companies that ask for too little pay for too much work usually stand out pretty well, and get lots of complaints.

But Only If You Try…

A third scam is to offer a survey, claiming their is a payout at the end, and then claim that the payout can only be claimed if the survey taker agrees to purchase a particular product or service, even if the survey has already been taken. Persons who do this are generally doing what is known as “affiliate selling,” i.e. they are serving as a middleman to funnel people to new products and services and they get a commission for each successful new customer they generate. The survey is just there to lure people in and make them think they are doing something important, and the reward they receive is always minimal. It is, after all, coming out of the commission of the person administering the false survey!

Online surveys are a great way to make money just by voicing opinion, but there are many pitfalls. Luckily, it’s almost always the same trap over and over again, and there are many forums where people discuss the surveys and sort the legitimate ones from the scams. This is why it is so important to take those few seconds to research the company or offer before filling out the survey!

A Review Of Instant Paid Surveys

Saturday, May 16th, 2009
The first thing that caught our attention when viewing the Instant Paid Surveys site was the fact that they talk about making a secondary income. There isn’t any built up hype that involves you making thousands of dollars a week, but instead deals with realistic views. If you haven’t figured it out already we love to review sales pages that have realistic views. Don’t you?

So below you will find various information on the Instant Paid Surveys site. It will involve what we found, what we think you will like to know before looking deeper into their program, and then a final analysis of what we think based on the research we’ve done recently. Remember, we aren’t telling you to join this site, we just want you to have everything needed to make an informed decision when you’re finished.

Becoming a History Buff

Now this is probably the most unique approach of explaining how big companies need to pay people like yourself to survey their products. The sales page talks about companies like Miller and Coca-Cola who both tried to invent colorless beverages in their desired market. Then a little “Did you know” tidbit about there being over 60,000 products that have failed miserably which are on display at the International Supermarket And Museum in Naples New York.

The rest of the story involves how surveys evolved and what brought us to the point that we’re at today. This basically means getting paid tons of money online because they finally figured out that the best way for them to make money is to pay you. The information they provide is just the beginning of sharing the Instant Paid Surveys program with you.

What Makes Instant Paid Surveys Different

While some of the benefits you find here will end up being the same as many others, they do make several good points regarding their process. For instance, you won’t need special software, technical skills, a website, specialized learning, and about fifteen others. In short they are telling you this is about as simple as it gets if you want to make money online.

Our Overall Analysis

Quite frankly we found the information to be pretty interesting. Once we got through all the gibberish, we found the bottom line for you. Keep in mind this isn’t just for surveys, but the bonuses as well. These include everything from mystery shopping to learning how to get paid while driving your car. In the end the price is about as low as you can go to offer up all these various companies in one location.

We know you want us to tell you the price, but if we do then you’ll make a decision right now. We’ll just say it’s under $40. However, until you read this for yourself, a truly informed decision can never happen. So the next thing to do is take a look at what they’re selling you here, and see if it will be helpful with your online journey. It might be the secondary income you need during stressful times. Only you know the answer to that question.

Thursday, April 16th, 2009
One effective approach to make money online is via paid surveys. Companies & organizations are willing to pay money for people who want to answer their surveys online to get a feedback to their products or services. Participating a survey will help you make $100 to $300 a month. Maybe this is small amount but imagine if you are asked to answer 20 surveys? The site is good organized with rewards classified into different classes whereby makes easy to see precisely what you are getting offered. Survey Scout is enjoyed by its subscribers and yet to hear anyone has a negative feedback about them.

What are Paid Surveys?

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009
One of the most popular marketing techniques these days is making people think that they are going to get paid to take online surveys. Many websites are generating leads and gathering your personal information by advertisements claiming you will get $20, $50, or even $100 to participate in their online surveys.

These “online surveys” usually consist of making you buy something from one of their affiliates. They will pay you $20 to join book club or dvd rental program. There is usually a high payout you must reach before you can actually get a check. Usually you will have to sign up for several offers before you reach the minimum amount to request a payout. These programs are designed to keep you from completing all the steps necessary to get paid.

It is programs like these lead people to believe that paid surveys are a scam. In fact, you really can get paid to take online surveys. Unlike what the “scam” sites claim, a paid survey doesn’t usually pay $50 or more. And it doesn’t involve making a purchase, joining a book club, or applying for a credit card.

A real paid survey is simply a research study conducted by a market research company to gather information for a corporation, manufacturer, or advertiser. Big corporations spend millions of dollars marketing their products. They need to know who buys their products, what they like and dislike, what features of the product are important to them, etc.. With this knowledge they can in turn make products that people will buy. When they need one of these studies done they hire a market research firm. Most market research companies now have online panelists. When a study is done the research company will send out an email to its members asking them to participate in an online survey. This study usually consists of a few questions to determine your demographics. This is so that they can get information from the people who actually use the products. For instance, if they were conducting a study on video games they might want only males from ages 18-25 who own a Playstation. If you were a 35 year old female you wouldn’t qualify. Once you have qualified for a survey you will then be asked a series of questions related to the product. You may be asked to view a commercial, or even test a new product.

Before you take a survey you will usually be told what the compensation is for your participation. Even if you do not qualify, you may be entered into a drawing for cash or other prizes. Most paid surveys pay somewhere between $2 and $20. There are actually surveys that will pay over $100. But these are not common. Surveys that pay very high amounts are mostly reserved for those in the medical field and computer programmers. That doesn’t mean you can’t make a decent amount of money taking online surveys. You can.

The way to make sure you are always in need is to be a member of as many paid survey panels as possible. There are litereally hundreds of panels you can join. Some may ask for your help daily. Others may only need you once a month, or less. Some may never need you. Being a member of 10 to 20 panels will almost guarantee you receive at least one survey invitation a day. Often more. You can join and be a member of as many survey panels as you like. Most panels take about 5 minutes to register with. Unless you are going to take the time to join a couple hundred panels, you will not be able to make a living taking paid surveys. However, if you are looking to make some extra money every month with no investment then paid surveys is a great way to do it.

Work At Home: Taking Paid Surveys

Monday, April 6th, 2009
As you search for ways to make money from home you will find many options. The problem is that 99.9% of these money making opportunities will do more wasting your time and maybe money than earning you an income.

In this article I’m going t talk about Paid Survey opportunities. I’ve spoken with people who have tried Paid To Take Survey systems, and what I learned was very interesting. There’s a downfall that many people don’t think about until they are involved with the Paid Survey program.

The big drawback is that you need to qualify for the survey which you are emailed. The average pay is only $20.00 to $50.00 for a completed survey. Sounds easy don’t it? Well the qualification process is very time consuming and difficult.

Let’s say that you are emailed a survey about pet food. The questions asked will be multiple choices. If you select the incorrect answer, then you are instantly rejected without any pay what so ever! Now if they ask “How many pets do you have in your household 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 and you have a cat and dog so you answer 2 and they are looking for the answer of 3, 1 or 4 then goodbye to you and the time you’ve spent so far!

But let’s be positive about the outcome of this example survey. Just for fun let’s say that you get the first question correct, what do you think your chances are of getting 20 multiple choice questions correct when there is no right answer, just the answer they are looking for? I’d say not very likely.

There are a few people I spoke with who tried 100+ surveys before giving up. Imagine all the time some people waste in hopes of maybe and possibly getting just one survey completed once a week. I love making money from home but not that little bit of money for such a large amount of work.

Paid To Take Survey Systems are no better than the read emails for pennies opportunities. There are plenty of great ways to make money online that doesn’t require you to spend all day struggling for a few bucks here and there. Most legitimate home based business opportunities do require an investment. Keep in mind though that you are investing in your future.

The hard truth is that you have 3 choices. The first choice is to waste your days on worthless endeavors such as paid to read or Paid To Take Surveys. The second choice is to keep your day job. And third and I think best choice is to search out a legitimate home based business where you can earn hundreds and even thousands of dollars per week. Of course you’ll need to be careful when investing that you don’t get scammed by hyped up opportunities which have little to offer.

The decision is yours but if you’re going to spend all day working for pennies to nothing taking surveys, then why not just stay 9 to 5? That’s just my take on the matter.
