Title: Find Out Effective Social Bookmarking Internet Marketing Strategies and Techniques

Saturday, February 28th, 2009
There is currently a big buzz around the terms social bookmarking and due to its fairly new introduction to the market, many people are confused as how to go about market effectively in these web 2.0 sites.  For those new to this term, a social bookmarking website is a site where users can post their own article information from their own site/blog and other people can vote on them.  If many people vote on your content, then your article will be visible on the main page of the site, which could translate to ten thousands and even more users to your website.  However, usually your article will not stay there for very long as there are many other sites posting articles all the time and wanting this position.

To most effectively market yourself in these social bookmarking websites, it is very important to not spam in these communities.  You first need to lurk around on the website to get a feel for the atmosphere.  Once you have a better understanding of the culture on this social bookmarking website, you can introduce yourself.  Remember to not only make postings of your own information but to be active and vote for other people as well.  When you are very active and give lots of credit to other sites, people will respect you more and more.  As a consequence, they will start voting on your information.  If you just post your own information and if they are full of self promotion or low quality content, you can expect your site to be banned from this social bookmarking website.

Another important element is to lurk around on various websites and find one in your niche.  The reason why you should use one in your niche, is because the competition is less and also it will be easier to build up your profile as an expert in the field.  Once you have been on a social bookmarking website as an active and responsible user, many users would like to syndicate your information on their websites.  So the key is not only to appear on the main page of the social bookmarking website but to distribute quality and useful content which the users will like and therefore, they will syndicate all your new postings on their website.  This can become extremely powerful advertising tool, so make sure you do your research first before you post and becoming active in the social bookmarking website.  Not only will it bring traffic but the referrers will also trust you more.  This will results in more sales for your business and could lead to long term relationships.  So how many social bookmarking websites should you participate in? Do not get involved in lots of websites as you will not be able to keep up a quality profile in the long term. I would recommend to pick max 3 niche websites to focus your efforts on.  You will find out that this will take up lots of your time already.  It is very important to build authority so keep watching what people vote on the most.  Also look at the big guys in that social bookmarking site and try to emulate their techniques and writing style.

Wordpress Plugins and the Power of Social Bookmarking Sites

Friday, February 27th, 2009
Blogger used to be a good blogging platform, especially for beginners. It was easy to use and setup, and not much technical know-how was required. There’s one major setback to using Blogger, though. You can’t take advantage of social bookmarking sites, at least not as effectively as you can with using Wordpress. There are numerous Wordpress Plugins, and some take advantage these sites.

These social sites act as a “vote” for your website. When people bookmark your blog posts or articles, they are sharing them with others. Other people pick up on your content, and they might bookmark them as well. The more votes the better. Google loves content, that’s no mystery. Google will reward your site for that content and the fact that high authority social bookmarking sites are linking to it. This means more traffic! A lot more in fact.

So how do we take advantage of these social sites when blogging? The answer is Wordpress Plugins. Blogger doesn’t give us any way to automatically bookmark every post we make. It has to be done manually. That’s very time consuming! Services like OnlyWire or SocialMarker can make this a lot easier, but you still have to take the time to use those services.

There is a much easier way to drive this traffic to your blog. You have to be using Wordpress to take advantage of this. Wordpress is probably the most popular blogging platform, and it’s no wonder why that is. It requires a little more technical knowledge, but don’t be scared away. The benefits are far greater!

Wordpress makes use of Plugins. Wordpress Plugins are basically little applications that perform a function or process. There are numerous Plugins that were made for Wordpress, and there will be many more no doubt. They all serve a different purpose.

Here are some Wordpress Plugins that you DON’T want to be without so that you can utilize the power of social bookmarking sites:

ShareThis - Allows users to share and bookmark your posts.

AddThis Social Bookmarking Widget – This allows your readers to bookmark your posts.

ShareThis and AddThis are pretty much the same thing. It doesn’t hurt to have both. You want to make it as easy as possible for your visitors to bookmark your posts.

OnlyWire Autosubmitter - This will automatically submit your posts to your OnlyWire account.

Sociable - Automatically adds links on your posts to popular social bookmarking sites.

Tweet My Blog - This will automatically post a tweet to your Twitter account when you make a new post, bringing more traffic to your blog. You can sign up for Tweet My Blog at my blog; there is a link in the resource box. You’re also going to need a Twitter account. So grab that and start getting followers, the more the better.

This is just a small example of the Wordpress Plugins that are available. You want to make sure you have these Plugins installed so you get traffic from the social bookmarking sites. The potential here is huge, and you don’t want to miss out. If you’re not yet using Wordpress to blog, I suggest you get on board.

Choosing Between Social Bookmarking or Not

Thursday, February 26th, 2009
Do you feel like you are a serious Internet marketer? There always appears to be different levels of seriousness as you begin to analyze successful Internet marketing businesses. One area that is definitely true is when it comes to social bookmarking.

If you blog you should be social bookmarking. Social bookmarking is part of social networking and it is way to get your blog message out to the public. You certainly want readers coming back to your blog and your RSS feed does that for you.

But how do you get readers to your blog in the first place?

One of the best ways to do that is to social bookmark each blog post that you make to various social directories. Depending on the blogging platform that you use this can be extremely easy to do.

For example, Wordpress offers a plug in that contains many different social directories that you can submit to. Another thing you can do is go to Onlywire and join over 20 social directories at one time.

Then every time you make a blog post you go to only to your Onlywire account and submit one time and it will then be bookmarked to all of these different directories. This is a quick way if time is an issue for you.

However, we would suggest that if you are a serious Internet marketer that you take the time to bookmark your blog post to a handful of other top social directories. These should include the Digg, Propeller, Stumbleupon, Technorati, and others!

What happens when you social bookmark a post is you are creating a link with a short summary back to the blog URL itself. This is a great way for readers to come to your blog and discover more about you.

This also creates search engine bait as the search engines will spider these top social directories more often than they will your own website or blog. When you social book you create a backlink and the search engines will come and spider you on a consistent basis.

If you properly blog by targeting specific longtail keyword phrases, then you will find yourself ending up on page 1 of some of the top search engines for your blog post. This will create even more traffic for you.

As you can see there really is no choice comes to social bookmarking. If you are not doing that you are missing out on tremendous traffic and of course potential income.

What In The World Is Social Bookmarking and Why Should You Be Doing It?

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009
Social bookmarking has become an immense force both in online marketing in addition to mainstream culture. The wildly popular Social Networking site MySpace was offed to News Corp last year for $580 million in spite of having no real measurable income. The value placed on the site was from the tremendous traffic it yields and even at over a half billion was believed a bargain. YouTube sold to Google for 1.65 billion with only 20 million in revenue. These high-ticket sales just attest how fashionable and how crucial such sites are.

Okay, enough news. How does one really use these sites to make money? First of all, let me forewarn you that just like broadcasting out B.S. emails and assembling SPAM blogs or SPLOGS as they are known online, mistreating the social bookmarking services will result in getting your internet site banned by them and you will get precisely the opposite outcomes from what you are looking for. With that said, I propose you pay close attention to what I talk about in this article as well as about of the resources that I am going to propose to you.

Like many internet marketers I am forever on the lookout for new methods and methods for driving free traffic to my sites and try to cut back the use of techniques such as PPC (pay-per-click) and co-registration promotions. Whenever you can get plenty of your target keyword pages to show up in the top of the major SEs you more or less have a license to print money without having to put out any of your own.

There are quite a few bookmarking sites out there but for the aims of employing them for online marketing we are going to concentrate on a few of the more favorites such as Furl, Digg, Spurl, and the one I genuinely love, Technorati. There are numerous automated tools that I will help you to automate the process of bookmarking your sites.

All of the leading bookmarking sites will help you to get traffic and if you have a blog you will obtain the greatest benefit by delivering constantly updating content that can then be transmitted to the directories when your blog updates. They love new and UNIQUE content. There are software plugins you can employ that will put buttons on your blogs which make it user-friendly for someone to recommend the articles or content from your internet site or blog. One of the other bookmarking sites that has become exceedingly popular recently is Digg. The site was started by Kevin Rose for below $1,000 and now with over 400,000 members and 200 million page views is one of the biggest news sites on the web. Just to give you an estimate of how prominent they are, their readership is nearly as massive as the New York Times.

Personally, I like to give my readers numerous options which is why I will put buttons to Digg, Furl, Reddit, Ask, Blinklist, Blogmarks, Google, Ma.gnolia, Spurl, Yahoo, and another service called Socializer that covers a lot more. This gives me a heavy coverage of all of the major sites. In addition to the buttons that I put on my blogs I will also create “tags” for Technorati and add them to my posts. These tips can help you get much more traffic to your blogs.
