How to Earn Money Blogging by Social Bookmarking

Friday, May 23rd, 2008
Every day new Internet businesses start without a blog of their own. This is one reason they fail within the first couple of years. You can become an Internet business success if you learn how to combine blogging and social bookmarking to make more money.

One: You first need to find all of the relevant social bookmarking sites for your business. Join one or as many as you want to, just make sure that you find sites that are used by a lot of other people. The bigger the social site is the better for your business.

Some of these should include OnlyWire.com, Digg, Google and Yahoo. There really are thousands of sites you can bookmark your blog posts too.

Two: Once you have found the ones that you want to use you want to become active. The more active you are in each social bookmarking site, the more exposure you will get to your blog.

Explore all of the social activities that are available to you and use everyone you can. For example you can increase your traffic when you submit your site to all applicable bookmarks consistently. Not to mention the search engine bait benefits you will see.

Three: You want to make sure that you constantly update your blog and check in at the social bookmarking site a couple of times a week. What will keep people coming back is if you constantly update your content.

Plus adding fresh content will keep search engines spidering it more often as well. You can never get too many visits from a search engine.

Four: Invite your friends and family to use the social bookmarking site. This will help to increase your popularity in the social site, which will mean more traffic for you. And they may even be able to offer you a few content ideas!

Five: Target your niche market that would want your products or services the most. This will help you find other social bookmarking sites for your blog.

Six: Advertise your blog and make sure that the social bookmarking sites that you are a member of are listed on your blog. Encourage others to bookmark your site.

All the above are creative ways to handle the issue of social bookmarking, blogging, and earning money. If you can apply several of these to your internet business you too can earn more and grow your business quicker.

Social Bookmarking And/or Social Networking - Which is Better for Your Internet Marketing Start-up?

Sunday, May 18th, 2008
e new to Internet marketing you might not be aware of how much social marketing sites can do to boost the traffic coming to your Internet marketing start-up business. You may not even be aware of what social networking and social bookmarking sites are, or how to utilize them.

Sure, social sites give you a lot of interactivity and allow users to personalize their sites, compile a list of favourite links, videos, music, photos, documents and share it all with friends and visitors, but how exactly does that help you develop your Internet marketing start-up business?

Above all, you should be aware that social media marketing sites fall into two basic categories, bookmarking sites and networking sites, so you need to be clear about what you want to do?

Social Bookmarking Sites

Social bookmarking sites allow you to build and organize your favourite links (i.e. bookmarks) AND you can choose to restrict them to selected friends or make them public and share them with everybody on the Internet.

The big advantage of social bookmarking is that your favourite links are no longer tied to one specific browser accessible from just one computer in one location.

Social bookmarking services enable users to save bookmarks on a remote web server which can be accessed anywhere where there is an online connection.

Social bookmarking sites usually categorize links with a “tagging” system which allows users to choose keywords with which to “tag” their bookmarks. Sites can then be retrieved via the tags.

You may invite visitors to bookmark your posts. You can do this by adding a button to your page that links through to Stumbleupon, or Digg, or TwitThis and so on.

However, there are so many social bookmarking services, that if you added all their buttons you’d end up with more buttons than content on your page! Instead, use a service like addthis.com, which places one button on your site for a wide range of social bookmarking sites.

Social Networking Sites

Social networking sites offer a convenient method of connecting with people who share similar interests to you.

Sites like Facebook and MySpace allow you to post your advertisements and promote your products, as long as you do not simply (and stupidly) send out spam. Traffic will build on any site that has original, good quality, regularly updated content.

MySpace or Facebook?

It has recently been noised abroad that MySpace is no good for Internet marketing, but that is not so. It was simply a case of too many Internet marketers not knowing who their audience was.

The point is that MySpace tends to attract a younger age bracket with less money to spend than does Facebook. Get to know the sites and adapt your content to each one, don’t simply post the same stuff to both.

One other reason why social networking sites are sometimes dismissed as not being any good for business is that some people do little more than set up a profile. Then they get stuck, don’t know what to do, do nothing. Merely being there is not enough! Find ways to communicate with the people who are there on their terms, not yours.

Go careful, though, that you don’t go overboard with the crazy applications and the “late night partying confessions” stuff if it is not the sort of thing you want your clients to see!

Whereas social bookmarking sites are simply sites for you to collect and organize your favourite links, social networking sites, being more sociable, require more time and regular fresh content updates. With social networking sites you have to work on your image!

Search Engines Love Web 2:0!

Another reason why Internet marketers should build a presence on both social bookmarking and social networking sites is because search engines LOVE them!

Links posted on such sites are regularly followed by search engine spiders. So, by building up your links on these sites, your website backlinks will grow, and so will your search engine rankings, which is what you need if your Internet marketing start-up is to survive, grow and thrive.

Who Knew Social Bookmarks Had This Effect?

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008
It hasn’t been that long ago that reciprocal linking was a popular way to create back links to your site. Today you can concentrate on building one way back links to your site through blogging and social bookmarking. As a matter of fact using social bookmarks to create traffic to your site is a fantastic thing to do.

If you’re not aware of what social bookmarking is it something that you should get up to date on. If all you are doing is blogging and pinging then you are shortchanging yourself and potential business and visitors to your blog.

We all know the blogging is very simple to do. You just set down and type in your thoughts into a page and click publish. The blogging platform instantly builds a page for you, which is much easier than the old website building HTML days.

One of the main reasons that blogging is so effective is because it allows you to just list your thoughts. A really effective blog comes across as a conversation between two people.

Blogging does take a little bit of time, but you don’t have to pay to do it. If you don’t like to write you can hire a writer to write blog articles for you, but we like to say if you can talk you can blog.

This is a little bit about blogging, but how do you get people to your page to begin with? One of the best ways to do that is to social bookmark your blog posts after you make them.

If this is extremely easy to do and many people would do it if they understood it better. You can make social bookmarking as easy as you want.

For example, WordPress offers a plug in that can be installed at the bottom of each of your blog posts. You can click on a drop down menu which will bring up a list of social directories that you bookmark your post too.

You click on the icon for that specific directory and then just fill in the information that they require. In many cases it will automatically have the blog URL listed for you. All you do is paste in a short summary and list a couple of tag words and click submit.

The benefits of this is that search engines spider social and directories much more often than they will your own blog. By bookmarking your post you are creating a back link from that directory to your blog.

Search engines can find it and then rank your blog post giving you search engine traffic. Readers can find this link and click on it and read the whole article at your blog directly. The more of these back links you have the more potential traffic your blog will receive.

Would Social Bookmarking Help Me With My PR?

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008
When looking to improve on a legitimate home business, there are a number of things you can do. Everything from writing articles to posting in forums to creating a blog can help you network and generate traffic volume. But one thing that can help you with your business and PR is social bookmarking.

Social bookmarking has been around for a few years now, but it is a terrific method to help you generate traffic and increase your page rank. Before you know how it can help your business, shouldn’t you know what social bookmarking is?

You have probably run across a web site that has interested you and have wanted to save it to your computer. Of course there is a way for you to save that web site to your favorites so you can quickly find it in the future. But social bookmarking has taken this concept to a whole new level. Instead of saving them to a favorites folder, you can bookmark them on a special web site.

The difference is you have the ability to make your list public or private. If you want some of your customers or people in your affiliate marketing program, they can easily access the sites. In order to do this, you use a list of keywords that represent your favorite site’s content. This is also known as tagging the site.

As mentioned, public lists allow you to share your favorite sites to anyone you want. This can help you train people underneath you in your business or program. People can simply log on and find all of the sites you recommend for them to read up and learn from.

If you want to generate traffic with social bookmarking, you can do so rather easy. You can set up your blog or web site to link to your favorite tagged sites while allowing your visitors to easily bookmark your site. Of course you want to target specific keywords as well. This way you can climb higher in the search engines and generate traffic this way as well.

There is no question that social bookmarking can help you with your PR and web site if you know what you are doing. It is a fairly simple process to learn, but extremely effective. As long as you put in the effort and use keyword optimization correctly, you can turn your so-so business into a legitimate home business.
