I sigh and say to myself, “Not again.” I try to be polite, but I’m just plain tired of it.

All the time. What cracks me up is that usually they are so sincere and almost whispering, like they were going to let you in a some great secret. Or, maybe, they’re talking that way because they know they’re being silly and are a touch ashamed.

I’d rather not know what they do with Jesus on their free time… particularly if they are the type who claim Jesus “revealed” himself to them.
Ewwww…

No, I just try to change the subject as quickly as possible. If they persist in trying to talk about Jesus, and it’s a conversation I don’t want to have at the moment, I’ll be honest about it. I just tell them I’m not really comfortable discussing it.

I occasionally want to slap them back into reality. I have avoided the urge so far.

I just stop them and tell them “spare me.” Pretty hard to have a personal relationship with a guy dead for 2 millennia. How many people stop to talk about their personal relationship with Shakespear?
